Mi Notebook Ultra
Guys, this is Xiaomis most expensive product in India. Its priced at Rs 77K. Their Mi 11 Ultra was priced at Rs 70K, this comes at Rs 77K. And Im talking about the Mi Notebook Ultra.
but this is a premium laptop with some very unique things. Will tell you everything!
You get a charger with its cable. Thats about it. And theres nothing else other than documentation.
Alright! Build Quality – Look at this, it looks like only the logo changed only. You know what I mean. This looks good & it isnt on the lighter side but it feels well built in the hand.Mi Notebook Ultra
As it has a 6000 series aluminium chassis. Meaning this whole thing from up to down is all aluminium. And yes its unibody as well. To talk about the weight, Ill say its about 1.70-1.75 Kg. Lets test, it probably might be more as well, I don’t know.
Its 1.710 Kg. I had said 1.7 Kg & thats really close! For the 1st time, Ive guessed the laptops weight right! There are legs present below & the ones behind are raised compared to the front. So it sits on an angle.
And yes you get a grill as well for the air flow, right below. And you get 2 speaker grills on both sides(left and right). Ports & Buttons – On the left, you get 2 USB Type C ports where 1 is a thunderbolt port, theres a HDMI port, USB 3.2 & another USB 2.0 & a 3.5mm jack.Mi Notebook Ultra
So you can add an external display with the thunderbolt port. Weve seen it from the outside, now lets look at it from the inside. But can we open it with 1 hand? Lets find it out! Nice!
And I havent started it but that display & bezels. The side bezels are thin. And looks like a big screen. Its a 16:10 aspect ratio screen. Its a 15.6 screen, Ill talk about it more! The keyboard is full-sized according to me, but theres no num pad.
I think the distance between the keys is more than enough. And its clicky as well with a 1.5mm travel distance, so thats good! If I talk about the touchpad, its quite big! That’s nice, well work on it & tell you more. But this look is definitely not new!Mi Notebook Ultra
The power on/off button is also a fingerprint sensor, so youll be able to unlock & start using your finger, thats good. Wow, thats a big screen! And no, it isnt a touch screen.
Guys look at its bezels, theyre thin & the upper bezel has a nice HD webcam & thats important nowadays! Generally, the webcam makes the upper bezel a little thicker but its not with this one.
I really like the screen-to-body ratio on this laptop! Xiaomi claims its screen-to-body ratio is 89% The big thing is that it has a 3.2K display! Generally in this premium price range, you get an FHD screen. This one is 3.2K & not 2K, which is really good & the colors are rich as youll see on its display.
The brightness seems perfect for indoors without any problems but if youre using it outdoors in the sunlight, then you might find that the brightness is a little less.
Specifications – In the Ultra, you get i5 & i7. And there are 2 sub-variants in the i5(8GB RAM & 16GB RAM). You get 512GB storage in all variants & the i7 variant only has a 16GB RAM variant & no 8GB RAM. It has a big battery & I think thats why its on the heavier side. It has a 70WHr battery that runs for 12 hours, claims Xiaomi. And even with that screen, youll get an 8-10 hour backup.Mi Notebook Ultra
So no problems with the battery but it doesnt support fast charging. It has a 65W charger that charges the laptop up to 50% in 45 minutes. So no fast charging, Id say.
Multimedia – That screen is really good! If youre watching videos indoors, youll love the quality. Youll have fun if youre into gaming! Youll like the colors & smoothness. But I cant say the same with the audio. You get two 2W speakers on either side & theyre not bad, but its not great either.
So the overall audio-video experience is less immersive due to the audio. Connectivity – You get WiFi 6 & Bluetooth 5.1 support. OS – It comes on Windows 10 & youll definitely get a free upgrade to Windows 11. You also get pre-installed Microsoft Office, so thumbs up! For another feature, you get a Macro Key, where you can assign it to any software. So if you open Chrome all the time, you can access it on the macro key press.Mi Notebook Ultra
So its good! I didnt mention one thing in specifications. You get an integrated graphics card which I didnt like. Yes, the display & other features are good but If youre paying a premium amount, then getting an MX450 with a 2GB graphics card, wouldve been nice.Mi Notebook Ultra
You can then easily use it for video editing & Photoshop. So an integrated graphics card is a small downside. Remember, the Ultra variant(i5 with 16GB RAM) starts at Rs 64K & the i7 with 16GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 77-78K. To talk about the price, its equivalent to others & it doesnt seem aggressively priced & is lower by only Rs 1-2K.Mi Notebook Ultra
